Hardware Project Manager for Driving Ranges

TrackMan is expanding with an additional Project Manager to lead our hardware projects from idea generation to production and sales. Being a Project Manager requires you to work closely together with several senior stakeholders in a very dynamic environment – driven by our passion for the product, the customer and sports. You will work closely with our mechanical, RF, PSU, DHW development teams, software development teams, testing teams, and production.
Your key responsibilities are
- Translating the “Driving Range" customer requirements and business requirements into structured, technical system- and product requirements by working closely and collecting input from stakeholder in Operations and Business Development around the world (US, EMEA, APAC)
- Leading the Project Group together with the Product Owner on the development and optimization of products for our Driving Range offerings (e.g. radars, monitors, installation accessories, etc.) adding new feature, optimizing for manufacturing, taking into account factors such as cost, reliability, and scalability
- Breaking down technical requirements into smaller, actionable tasks that can be estimated, assigned to team members and tracked for progress, in order to keep project plan updated
- Request allocation of resources through the management and develop a realistic project plan accordingly with all relevant task dependencies.
- Being a “point-of-contact” for internal colleagues such as Operations, support and production, for technical questions related to Driving Range hardware and drawing on the expertise of the team when needed
- Representing TrackMan in interactions with suppliers regarding technical specification or supplier quality issues, giving technical push-back and clearly communicating expectations
- High-level communication and presentation to steering group/stakeholders and providing a clear status overview on progress/obstacles. Aligning with the Product Owner to ensure timely decision making
- Plan and execute needed certification and approvals together with the Certification Engineer(s)
- Identifying, communicating and managing hardware risk related to Driving Range hardware (e.g. product quality, obsolescence, national certifications) based on input from team and suppliers
Requirements
Are you our new colleague?
- You have a HW background and some years of experience as a project manager from a hardware product development company, coupled with a strong business acumen which enables you to make good commercial judgements
- Our ideal candidate has worked with broad technical hardware projects with elements of both mechanical design, electronic development, and embedded software: You know the importance of making robust hardware design and ensuring the developed hardware is easy to produce and service and gives a superior experience for the end customer. Thorough verification of the hardware design according to specification is a natural process for you
- You’re a strong communicator, who know when to be assertive and when to listen. You allow others to present their ideas before you present your own and strive to understand all projects' challenges and opportunities. This understanding should enable you to present technical complexities for a broad audience You are persistent and have proven your ability to deliver high-quality products on time and budget. You have an interest in sports and ideally a knowledge of golf.
