The team is responsible for capturing, processing and delivering real time data on athlete performance from our cutting-edge radar and computer vision-based tracking technology. Our products are used by some of the best athletes in the world. Our team is building high performance and flexible data solutions and cloud services. We work closely with our peers in data science, business intelligence and application development, enabling them to focus on delivering compelling product experiences. We focus on the problem of running data operations at scale with a lean team using automation and the latest data frameworks and cloud technologies.

Example projects we are working on: 

• Ingest of data from various sources to provide greater insights into data for our data scientists and the business
• Taking our data lake to the next step by introducing a data mesh architecture to allow us to grow even more
• Introduce new cloud computing advancements into our stack to limit technical depth and ensure a modern architecture

Your profile

If you’re not already working as a data engineer, you have a background as backend developer, DevOps-engineer or an SRE. You’ve been setting up and running data technologies on AWS cloud or have a strong desire to learn. You are interested in how to create high reliability and performance solutions and you naturally look for ways to drive greater certainty through automation. You are enthusiastic about contributing to the design and architecture of our solutions by researching and rapidly testing new technologies. You are keen to work in a GitOps focused team and Agile development environment. We’re looking for individuals excited to grow in this space.

Responsibilities

• Use your developer skills to work on an AWS cloud stack with Python microservices and DBT at its core
• Contribute as an SRE and make sure that the reliability of the platform is where it needs to be
• Architect solutions and pipelines to solve challenging data at scale problems
• Identity and troubleshoot data quality or platform issues using your systematic troubleshooting skills
• Interfacing with business, operations and other development teams to understand and refine requirements

• A strong educational background in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
• Experience with cloud native technologies on AWS
• KDS, Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda, ECS, Api Gateway and Step Functions
• Experience with Python, Linux and Docker
• Experience with Infrastructure as code like AWS Cloudformation and AWS SAM
• Familiarity in using the GitOps process
• Familiarity with SQL and an understanding of database concepts
• An interest in big data, NoSQL and data warehouse solutions
• An interest in machine learning and running large scale machine learning operations
